Information
Thorndon School is a full state primary school catering for children from Year 1 to Year 8. The school, which is a decile 10 school is ethnically and culturally diverse and has pupils from all over Wellington. The school is located in the suburb of Thorndon, which is in central Wellington.
The school has a roll of between 280 and 320 children and an enrolment scheme is in place to manage the roll within this band.
Thorndon School requires that all international students live in one of the following types of accommodation:

With their parents or legal guardians (proof of legal guardianship must be supplied).

With a designated caregiver chosen by their parents/legal guardians. All accommodation provided by designated caregivers must be approved by the school as required by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. An indemnity must be signed giving the designated caregiver authority.

Normal classroom tuition and access to specialised tuition in English by a trained ESOL teacher.
