Wednesday 14th December
In preparation for the 2017 year, we have this week moved our Year 1&2 classes from the 'White House' and Eastern block buildings, to the three rooms located at the top of the ramp, and on the Upper Level above the Year 3&4 classes. We wanted to move the classes this week, to allow students to visit their 2017 classrooms in the next few days.
The Y1&2 classes will be located on the upper level for the duration of Stage 1 of our rebuild project - which is currently scheduled to begin in May of 2017.
As part of this preparation we've also decided to re-number our classrooms for the duration of the rebuild. You can view these details on the school site plan.
The 2017 stationery lists for Year 3-8 students are now available. You do not have to purchase through OfficeMax of course, you're more than welcome to use whatever stationery store that you prefer.
We've also received an update from the Wellington City Council on the demolition that is taking place at 61 Molesworth Street

Thank you to all of those parents, grandparents, caregivers, and students who came along to support the school at the Thorndon Fair, and our 'Guitars on the Grass' event.
The fair was a great success, and we are very grateful to the many parent volunteers who gave of their time to help setup, collect for the school, and then cleanup at the end of a long day. Thank you to the fair organising committee, who met many times, to plan and organise the day.
As a result of the wet weather we held our annual 'Guitars on the Grass' event, off the grass and in the Wellington Girls College hall. We're grateful to the college for letting us use their space, for what is a fun celebration to close out the year. Thank you to Andrew who organised the main event, supported by the band, the Y3&4 Bollywood dancers, the Wearable Arts fashion and all those who joined in the Christmas carols. Thank you also to Krista and the Y1&2 team, who presented their 'Water' dance in our school hall.
Work continues around the CBD in the aftermath of the Kaikoura earthquake. The demolition at 61 Molesworth is progresssing smoothly. If you have any questions or concerns, the WCC's Earthquake Recovery Map is the best place to get the latest updates.
This album is created by Thorndon School's songwriting group.
